After certified

Once appointed iiM mediators for a period of three years, they are required to comply with iiM Code of Conduct. All mediators will be evaluated regularly by both the parties as well as feedback received from fellow mediators or parties. In order for iiM mediators to be updated on mediation developments and be competent in more complex mediation tasks, all certified iiM mediators are required to undertake continuous professional development (CPD) activities of at least 45 hours over a period of every three years. The CPD activities are wide ranging and can include participating in workshops, seminars and conference related to mediation. In addition, the activities may also involve undertaking research or writing papers on mediation for publication, and giving instruction or lectures on mediation or conflict resolution topics. Other CPD activities may include conducting simulated mediations, or participating in forum discussions organised by iiM. iiM mediators are required to keep proper records of their CPD activities and to confirm with iiM to ensure that their proposed CPD activities will be approved for this purpose before taking the CPD activities.
